Sandy Reavis Profile

Sandy Reavis
I finally found what I’ve been searching for all my life.
I’ve done a lot of things in my lifetime, but always wondered what I wanted to be when I
grew up.
I was a floral designer for 16 years. That’s where I learned my flare for color and
displays.
My boyfriend (now husband) and I, demolished a barn, and timber framed a house
using all the oak beams and materials. After the house was liveable, we got married!
That’s when I learned to upcycle. Along with learning how to drywall, run a crane, lay
tile, stain wood, and swing a hammer.
For 17 years I was a licensed massage therapist specializing in medical massage.
That’s where I learned compassion.
For about 14 years I have been a caregiver for the elderly population, working with
many dementia patients. And that’s where I learned patience and lots of it.
I went tandem hang gliding 3 times in the mountains of Tennessee. That’s where I
learned courage.
I’ve traveled around the States, and ventured to Norway twice. That’s where I learned to
be unrestrained.
Life has taught me how to be an artist. I have been a fluid artist for 5 years. I’m so
happy that I finally found what I was searching for and absolutely love it.I enjoy creating
art incorporating my love of music, nature and found objects.
I’ve been a member of the Rockford Art Guild since February 2023
