Rockford Art Guild (RAG) is collaborating with Nicholas Conservatory for the fourth year with a new and exciting exhibit of more than 25 pieces of art. Nicholas Conservatory is located at 1354 N. Second Street, Rockford.
These combined exhibits of incredible orchids with a reception area filled with art to inspire all, will be on display Friday, February 14th through March 25th. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, February 17th, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. “This event gives Rockford Art Guild’s artists an opportunity to share their many talents with the community. In addition, visitors will learn about the different art opportunities the Rockford Art Guild provides to individuals in the Rockford area,” stated Pam Parkinson, RAG President. In addition to the individual art pieces on display, there will be an incredible original, one of a kind, hand painted totes for sale during the February 17th opening reception.
The Rockford Art Guild (RAG) is a supportive and encouraging group of people who have a strong passion for the arts. Each member has opportunities to improve, explore, and challenge themselves in ways they would not find elsewhere. Guild members work together to increase the appreciation of art in the Rockford area. The goal is to provide education, growth, and show opportunities for our members, and for other artists in the community. Members work in a variety of media, including mosaic, beading, painting, pottery, sculpting, photography, woodworking, and more.
To be a part of the Nicholas Conservatory show you need to be a paid member of the Rockford Art Guild. You can submit up to four photos in jpeg format (each photo can only be 1 MB or less) of your art work with the form below. This is a juried show so make sure your photos are clear and well lit. Label each photo with “your three initials_name of piece_medium.jpeg”. If your art work is not labeled in this manner it will not be entered for jurying. After the guest judge has chosen the art work for the show the artists will be notified and told which pieces to bring down to the Nicholas Conservatory. Please only bring those pieces that have been juried in. The deadline for submitting the artwork is January 15th. Notification to artists will be the end of January.
Art submitted and juried in can be dropped off at Nicholas Conservatory on Tuesday, February 13th, between 10:00 and 12:00. The show will be hung that day from 12:00-3:00.
Art must be picked up on February 27th between 10:00 and 1:00. Anyone who cannot pick up their art during these times should contact John Hantsch to make other arrangements
