Nicholas Conservatory to Host Rockford Art Guild Artists
Beautiful Art and Incredible Orchid Exhibit
Rockford, IL. (February 1st, 2016) Rockford Art Guild (RAG) is collaborating with Nicholas Conservatory for the second year with a new and exciting exhibit of more than 30 pieces of art. . Nicholas Conservatory is located at 1354 N. Second Street, in Rockford. In addition, “In Full Bloom: The Orchid Exhibit”, offers guests an opportunity to see some rare and unusual orchids.
This is the first of several Rockford Art Guild exhibits to be displayed throughout the community in 2016. The art will be on display from Friday, February 12th through Sunday, February 28, 2016. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, February 13th, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. “This event gives Rockford Art Guild’s artists an opportunity to share their many talents with the community. In addition, visitors will learn about the different art opportunities we provide to individuals and the Rockford area,” stated Pam Parkinson, RAG President. In addition to the individual art pieces on display, there will be an incredible mosaic that includes 8” x 8” canvases with an array of mediums and subject matter. Each 8 x 8 original piece of art will be available to purchase for $30.00 with all proceeds benefiting Rockford Art Guild. The Rockford Art Guild (RAG) is a supportive and encouraging group of people who have a strong passion for the arts. Each member has opportunities to improve, explore, and challenge themselves in ways they would not find elsewhere. Guild members work together to increase the appreciation of art in the Rockford area. The goal is to provide education, growth, and show opportunities for our members, and for other artists in the community. Members work in a variety of media, including mosaic, beading, painting, pottery, sculpting, photography, woodworking, and more.
Art Drop Off
Art submitted and juried in can be dropped off at Nicholas Conservatory on Thursday, February 11th, between 10:00 and 1:00. The show will be hung that day from 1:00-3:00.
Art must be picked up on February 29th between 10:00 and 1:00. Anyone who cannot pick up their art during these times should contact Paula Marsh by February 27th.
