I retired from a 30 year career as a full-time firefighter in 2009. I discovered the world of drawing when I was a youngster and always did it just for fun. I entered an art contest at the age of fourteen, and actually won a scholarship which brought about a lot of excitement. I couldn’t accept it because I was four years too young. From then until a little over a year ago, I’ve primarily been a sketch artist. I’ve spent time designing and creating fire department related artwork for T-shirts, patches and scrapbooks.
In addition to sketching, I’ve always had an interest in oil painting. After many years of encouragement from my wife, I started focusing on creating paintings in early 2017. My formal training consists of one oil painting class that I completed in 1982.
